The film had potential.

A 6, optimistically 7/10, before the ending crumbled the solid, sensical story that came before it.

The comedic ending of the film made a mockery of the amazing acting and therefore characters whose credibility ended up down the drain. The film should have ended 20 minutes before it did.

As said, Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons were great. I feel the shortcomings were in the plausibility of the truth of the conspiracy/fantasy. I feel the character Teddy didn't in a million years seem clever enough for the audience to have any reason to believe his conspiracy even had legs. His character's past wasn't delved into nearly enough. What was his own first encounter/experience with these extra-terrestrials? Michelle was more convincing than he was. Who know maybe that was the point. Frustrating watch.

Disclaimer: I have done no research into the reasons behind the choice to end the film the way it was. This may all be a result of my misunderstanding (as always). But there...

I am aware that the film is a remake of the 2003 South Korean cult classic film, Save the Green Planet. I may watch this, I may not.
